Ode to Virginia..."Boondoggle"

I know I haven't posted in a while and this seems a bit crazy but a select few will understand. More real life updates of the Forsyth Family will soon be coming.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Boondoggle or boon doggle may refer to:
Boondoggle (project): term for a scheme that wastes time and money
Scoubidou: a knotting and plaiting craft known in the U.S. as "boondoggle"
Gimp (thread): a type of thread used in making boondoggles and lanyards
Woggle: a scout's scarf fixing known alternatively as a "boon doggle"

What Is Boondoggle?!? Boondoggle is a simple, extruded plastic lace, many people refer to as gimp! Gimp, a flat plastic lace made of flexible PVC, is a staple for the craft industry. It's also known as craftstrip, craftlace, gimp, lanyard, or plastic lacing. Why, in France, it's called Scooby-doo! It's made of a plastic composite that has a bit of elasticity to it.If you pull on it hard enough, it WILL break. By taking a piece or two of this product, you can weave, braid, or otherwise knot it to create a VAST variety of interesting projects. There are numerous trademarked names for this product. The best known of which is probably RexLace, made by the Pepperell Braiding Company. Another is CraftLace, made by Toner Plastics.

Guess what you all might be getting for Christmas this year ;) We all owe Virginia a round of applause!

Haha!!! YES!! That is hilarious. So... the 'plastic lace thingies' really do have an official name. I really like how the one definition says 'a waste of time and $$'. Funny.

I'm impressed! What time did you get to bed anyway? Oh, and Virginia, now I truly know what to call those flat, plastic, lacey things. I learn something new everyday. (I'm always interested on keeping up on the Utah lingo.)

Well, well, well... I guess Virginia was right. I guess the crazy Utah lingo is not so crazy after all. Thanks Naomi for doing the research, I wouldn't have been able to sleep tonight without that info:) I had fun, we'll have to do that again soon!!!
