Fabulous February: Vaughn's 2nd Birthday

We had a farm animal themed party for Vaughn this year and he loved it. We went to a petting zoo and had a great time with family and friends.

Here is the Big Boy!

His favorite animal to view was the turkey. He would crack up every time it would "gobble"

I just love his sweet features that really capture what a sweet and tender boy he is all around. He is so loving, obedient, helpful, caring to his sister and others, smart, inquisitive, fun, and happy.

Our family! Wow, I'm a lot shorter than Greg.
Of course he is really into trains and received many of those but he also got a basketball hoop, which he and Dad really enjoy.

We all went to a new creamery in town on Vaughn's actual Birthday.
He loved the fries and ice cream.

We had to keep relighting the candles and singing because he loved blowing them out.

And wouldn't we all like to be able to simultaneously suck our thumb, chew on our toe, and bend in half. Lucy is such fun.

I just love her in this sweet dress with her big blue eyes.

Does he look remorseful to you? Me neither! And yes somewhere in the wrapped up table cloth, fallen center piece, and pulled table protector is a big bowl of oatmeal, serving of yogurt, and cup of juice. What a great way to start the day.


Vaughn loves to be doing whatever his Dad and myself are. Yes there are pictures of them raking leaves together, sweeping the walk, etc. But he always loves to get ready with mom. When he is done he usually says "Mom, you look so pretty and Vaughn is so handsome."

Vaughn loves to have "snug" time so why not just lay on your baby sister's lap. She loves to play with him. They really are so good together.

So these pictures are in chronological order but most recent down to the beginning of the month.

Lucy sitting all on her own!! She is growing way too fast. I sometimes feel like I'm missing so much of my children's lives even though I'm with them the majority of every day.

I love my babies.

We are fam-i-ly...I got all my sisters with me. Well, we are missing Jennifer but it was still a wonderful time out. Thank you so much to all of our hubbies for taking over the kids so we could actually visit.

Good food + great conversation + family - spit up - diapers = Really feeling like it is the Holidays!

We brought the kids with us to the temple this month and stayed the night. We were excited to show Vaughn all the holiday lights but all he cared about was "angel romoni". He loved it.

The rest of November

We are blessed enough to get an extra long Thanksgiving holiday with lots of family.

Brother & Sister

We had Bethany capture some great shots of our kids again.

We couldn't resist getting a few shots with the darling hat Grandma gave her.

Lucy in her blessing gown. I love everything about it and it just has so much love in it by so many who are good to our family. The dress, the blanket, and the bracelet.

And finally, the reason why at this stage in life with two children the ages they are why we have mostly separate shots and not one with them together. Isn't this how we all feel when it comes time for pictures... no posing, just lay down and cry until it is over.

It is still pretty cute though.

Halloween

Halloween was so much fun! Vaughn is starting to get the hang of it and may really be ready for trick-or-treating next year. Grandma Thompson had a wonderful dinner party. I didn't get any pictures but all the food and desserts were festive and delicious. We also got some great goodies from Grammy & GrandDad. It is fun to see the kids dressed up.

We chose elephant and flower because they fit the personalities and Vaughn loves to make the noise. We said they were Horton Hears a Who since Vaughn is a great protective older brother to Lucy.

I just want you all to know how mild mannered Lucy was all night with this huge thing on her head. She is so sweet.

October This & That

So here are a bunch of pictures from the month. You'll have to wait for official Halloween ones later.

I'm a big help!

O.k. so Vaughn is NOT upset. This is the face he makes when he deems something as "heavy", even if he just pretends to be exerting himself and not really lifting at all.

Lucy loving the pumpkin patch as well...as she does with most everything in life so far. She is such a happy chill baby.

We went to the pumpkin patch with a great group of friends for FHE but we also saw Thomas and his family there. These boys are great.

Hhhmmm? How close should we get when we first see each other?

My current calling is Dinner Specialist on the Enrichment committee. We have a great committee and boy I am learning a lot. We did a fall theme and emergency preparedness night so we had soups and we served them in wide mouth canning jars. The food table from our Enrichment night. I think everything turned out really well.

Vaughn's first official hair cut. I had been trimming around the ears and neck but the curly mullet in the back finally had to go. He did great!
